The Full Story
OPA!
OPA! is a homegrown business.
The idea of OPA! came to me when we moved to the suburbs with our puppy Madison. My husband and I both worked in NYC. Our hours were long and unpredictable. Madison had a beautiful backyard but no one to take her out to play while her parents were trying to earn the bacon to put in her kibble.
We found two options a daycare/boarding facility or an independent dog walker.
The daycare facility was close to our home, but it did not offer the flexibility we needed. Nor did it offer Madison the 24/7 supervision we expected her to have for overnight stays. If our train happened to be late, there could be a chance the facility would be closed which meant Madison would have to stay overnight. It also meant she was staying in a facility where there was no person on the premises until they reopened at 7 am! I was not comfortable with this.
The second option was an independent dog walker. Finding a reliable sitter whom you trust is flexible and who will care for your pet takes time. Independent pet sitters often were doing it as a side hustle. Having to find another sitter you can trust and invest time to establish a relationship was unsettling at best.
Most of us work or have commitments. We go away on business trips or vacations. We want to be able to see a show in the city or have dinner with friends. Life happens and when it does we want to know we have someone we can count on to take care of our pet the same way or better than we would do it ourselves.
I accept I am a dog mom that smothers her dog with love. My girl deserves love and attention, and as her mom, she will get what she deserves.
I knew there were other pet owners out there have the same expectations from their pet daycare as I did and they were not finding it.
Why OPA!
Reliable. Experienced. Trusted.
OPA! stands for Only Pets Allowed. OPA! provides pet daycare for discriminating clients. It is where pets are recognized for who they are and where they are allowed to be the best they can be. The time your pet is with me, that time is all about them.
Currently, I offer daycare at my home, which is limited to 1-2 dogs. I also offer drop-ins at your home, individual dog walks, and pack playdates at the dog park.
I hope to meet you and your pet so that I can have the chance to show you the difference between pet daycare and exceptional pet daycare.
Thank you for stopping by. I look forward to meeting you soon!
